Jerry Berlin (age 65)
November 4, 2025
Jerome “Jerry” Stanley Berlin, born September 3, 1960 in Hamtramck , Michigan, passed away on November 4, 2025 at the age of 65.
Jerry was a proud union man and longtime member of IBEW Local 58, where he dedicated his career as an electrician. A hard worker to his core, he believed in doing things the right way, taking care of his own, and standing by his values. His hands built a life rooted in loyalty, love, and grit , and he carried that pride in everything he did.
Above all, Jerry loved his family. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and Papa , which was his favorite title. He poured his heart into his children and absolutely cherished his grandchildren, who lit up his world.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jeanne, and their children:
Jamie and his wife Nicole, and their sons Easton and Cooper
Jen and her husband John, and their children Colton, Brenna, Lily, Bella, and Quin
Jason and his partner Courtney
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Joe, and his siblings Jimmy and Raymond, and Patrice. He is survived by his sisters Paula (Tom) Worthington and Mary (John) Fish, his brother Joe (Kathy), and sister in laws Sandy and Theresa.
He also leaves behind beloved lifelong friends, as well as countless cousins, nieces, and nephews . All of whom loved and cherished him deeply, and whose lives were shaped by his loyalty, laughter, and steady presence.
To know Jerry was to know generosity. He would give the shirt off his back without hesitation and was the person everyone called when they needed support. A provider, a protector, and a steady presence, Jerry showed love through action. You never questioned if he had your back, he always did.
Outside of work and family, Jerry found peace outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and the quiet simplicity of nature, where life felt grounded and real. And at home, he was a proud Detroit sports fan, through the highs and the heartbreaks. He especially loved his Lions, cheering with loyalty only a true Detroiter could understand.
Jerry’s Catholic faith was the foundation of his life. He held a deep devotion to Father Solanus Casey and faithfully attended Wednesday healing Masses, seeking grace, peace, and gratitude through prayer. His quiet faith guided him, strengthened him, and shaped the way he loved and served others.
Jerry’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled: loyalty, kindness, hard work, and the importance of showing up for the people you love. His presence will be deeply missed and felt forever in the hearts of his family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.
In the loving spirit of Blessed Solanus Casey, may you rest in God’s peace and may we always ‘thank God ahead of time,’ trusting we will be reunited with you in His eternal light.”

I can’t imagine the grief and sorrow Jeanne and his family are going through. Every memory I have of Jerry is a fond one. I am traveling and will not be able to attend his services. I will sit quietly and reflect on his life and legacy. Wishing peace and comfort to Jamie, Jen, Jason and their families. A light greater than all of us has left this world and it will never be the same.
I am sincerely sorry for your loss. He was a great man.
I grew up with Jerry. I lived on Evaline a few houses down the street. We played sports in the alley together with the other neighborhood kids. Last time I saw him was about 3-4 years ago when he moved some bureaus for me from Hamtramck to my present home. He just volunteered to cart them in his truck for me. Wouldn’t take a dime from me. He was a great guy!
My condolences to all his family and friends. He will be missed.
Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Jeanne and the family. Sending hugs and prayers and wishing you comfort throughout the upcoming days in dealing with the loss of a wonderful man, Jerry.

I am truly blessed to been considered a friend of Jerry..he was an angel amongst us..Til we see him again!! ❤️
I was so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. We grew up together on Edwin and also at St. Florian’s, same class Grades, K thru HS. The whole Berlin family was wonderful to me. The whole block was a small family back then. We all had many a fun time hanging out. We did not move out until 92 so yes, we still lived down the street from you both. Jerry was a wonderful adult and a great kid, nothing but kindness in him and (Joe). We all had a beautiful childhood in Hamtown. I send my sympathy and healing to you all.
Jason, I wish I could be there for you and your family, know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you Courtney and the family. Know that you are loved and you are not going through this alone and if you need anything, you know all you have to do is call me. Much Love
Jason, I am so very sorry for your loss,…..May he rest in peace in the hands of our Lord, and may you and your loved ones find comfort and strength in the Blessing of his memory.
Sincerely Melissa
We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this most difficult time.

I met Jerry through the I. B. E.W. 58 working as apprentices over thirty five years ago. He was very knowledgeable as an electrician. I believe he was getting some great input from Jim Baldino his father in law. Living in Madison Heights his 2 sons.
Jamie and Jason played hockey with my son, Nate at lamfield high school. Praying for gods comfort,
to all his family during this most difficult time. Missed a chance to go fishing with Jerry this spring and i’m certain it would have been a great time. Peace be with god, Jerry. RIP

I was best buds with Patty and Paula when we were young. I grew up on Edwin street. The Berlins were an awesome family. Someone else stated that Edwin Street was a big happy family and they were correct. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. The Berlin family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jeanne, I am so sorry for your loss. When I first heard about this all the memories started flooding in with growing up on the same block as Jerry and his family. And then all the memories with being at your house with the kids so young and growing up. My heart is sad for you and your family. May God give you the comfort and strength you need at this time. May Jerry rest in peace God bless us all. Hugs!
My dear cousin, so many holiday memories with you and the family. Remember people mistook us as twins. We took our faces from my father and your mother. Rest in peace cousin. Will never forget you.;
