Jerry Berlin (age 65)
November 4, 2025

Jerome “Jerry” Stanley Berlin, born September 3, 1960 in Hamtramck , Michigan, passed away on November 4, 2025 at the age of 65.

Jerry was a proud union man and longtime member of IBEW Local 58, where he dedicated his career as an electrician. A hard worker to his core, he believed in doing things the right way, taking care of his own, and standing by his values. His hands built a life rooted in loyalty, love, and grit , and he carried that pride in everything he did.

Above all, Jerry loved his family. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and Papa , which was his favorite title. He poured his heart into his children and absolutely cherished his grandchildren, who lit up his world.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jeanne, and their children:

Jamie and his wife Nicole, and their sons Easton and Cooper

Jen and her husband John, and their children Colton, Brenna, Lily, Bella, and Quin

Jason and his partner Courtney

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Joe, and his siblings Jimmy and Raymond, and Patrice.  He is survived by his sisters Paula (Tom) Worthington and Mary (John) Fish, his brother Joe (Kathy), and sister in laws Sandy and Theresa.

He also leaves behind beloved lifelong friends, as well as countless cousins, nieces, and nephews . All of whom loved and cherished him deeply, and whose lives were shaped by his loyalty, laughter, and steady presence.

To know Jerry was to know generosity. He would give the shirt off his back without hesitation and was the person everyone called when they needed support. A provider, a protector, and a steady presence, Jerry showed love through action. You never questioned if he had your back, he always did.

Outside of work and family, Jerry found peace outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and the quiet simplicity of nature, where life felt grounded and real. And at home, he was a proud Detroit sports fan, through the highs and the heartbreaks. He especially loved his Lions, cheering with loyalty only a true Detroiter could understand.

Jerry’s Catholic faith was the foundation of his life. He held a deep devotion to Father Solanus Casey and faithfully attended Wednesday healing Masses, seeking grace, peace, and gratitude through prayer. His quiet faith guided him, strengthened him, and shaped the way he loved and served others.

Jerry’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled: loyalty, kindness, hard work, and the importance of showing up for the people you love. His presence will be deeply missed and felt forever in the hearts of his family.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.

In the loving spirit of Blessed Solanus Casey, may you rest in God’s peace  and may we always ‘thank God ahead of time,’ trusting we will be reunited with you in His eternal light.”
