Edward “Gutsy” Goclowski (age 73)

Dearest father of Joseph, Eric, and Amanda. Grandfather of Lauren, Morgan, Joe Jr., and Zoe. Brother of Robert, Justine (Tish), Felicia, Fran, Monica, Betty Ann, and the Late Raymond and Stanley. Dear friend of his late ex-wife Marie. Many nieces and nephews will also survive.
Edward was a graduate with the Saint Florian Class of 1964 and then served in the United States Army. His love of song and dedication to God led him to sing in the Saint Hyacinth Men’s Choir. Ed was also an active member of the International Order of the Alhambra Sancho Caravan #261. Eddie served as a Governor, Chair of the Memorial Committee, and Legionnaire as a member of the Hamtramck Moose. Because of his dedication, leadership, character, and mentoring at the lodge he was conferred Fellowship Degree of Honor by the Pilgrim Council of Moose International.
Gutsy agreed with few but was loved by all.

Uncle Eddie was one for the ages! His grit and heart were one that couldn’t be matched. Working under Ed and with mandy back in day was a fun and scary time depending on Ed’s mood lol! He will be truly missed, loved by many. Rest easy Uncle Eddie.
Loved walking into Moose and joking with him while I waited for my family’s dinner. He will be missed.

Oh the memories I have of Ed over the past 31 years. I’m really at a loss for words. He was just an absolute legend. A beautiful soul. There aren’t enough words to describe what a truly amazing man he was. I’m completely shocked and my heart hurts. He will be so missed. RIP sweet Ed. ♥️

All of the members of the St. Florian HS Class of 1964 will miss Ed’s smiling face and happy disposition. It is hard to believe that when we all got together in October of 2019 for our 55th reunion that it would be the last time that we would see him and talk to him. He will be missed.
I knew Gutsy when I was a kid growing up in Hamtramck. I went to school with one of his sisters. Always took care of everyone. Rest in Heaven Gutsy.
dziadek I will miss you so much. Everytime I was with you or anyone for that matter you had us cracking up. When you, my dad, uncle Eric and aunt Mandy were together omg it was great I was always laughing. I’m so glad you got to meet your great grand babies. We love you so much and the amount of pain I’m in is just unbearable. I just want to talk to you one more time
I have known this man since I was a little kid. I will remember him as a man that placed smiles on countless faces. A man that placed laughter in all the hearts of people he knew, and just met. I also knew him as a man of faith and love. A man who gave so much of himself to help people in need. Through the years I have called him coach(Baseball), fellow Sir Noble(Alhambra), my friend and my brother. A tear will be shed today, but the smiles and laughter of yesterday will live on forever in the hearts of many. The Love you shared is your Legacy.
I played softball with Gutsy a lot of years. He was a real competitor and always brought a smile to my face win or lose. I offer my prayers to his family as he will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Eddies’ family. I’m grateful I had one more opportunity to see him share a drink and a story or two with him and my oldest friends at Kenny Kono’s funeral. After 50 some years he was still same old Gutzy. RIP

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Gutsy. He was a close friend of my husband, Ed, and was in our bridal party many years ago. They spent a lot of time back then playing cards. He was quite a character and always made you laugh or smile. He will be missed by so many. He will live forever in our hearts. May he R.I.P
Gutsy, what can I say? We became friends in 1986 and you were there so many times when I needed a friend. Each time I called you, you made me laugh. I always looked forward to having a drink with you at Bakers. The lives you touched will not be the same without you in it. Just know that you will always hold a special place in my heart. My love and prayers go out to your family and friends. Rest In Peace.
Eternal rest and peace to you dear friend. So many great times will be remembered. Your great cooking at the Sancho Golf Outings, your announcer role at the Bowling Fundraisers, leading the songs that welcomed Santa into The Moose, countless debates, getting to sing a bit with you and my dad on the choir (if it wasn’t for you I probably wouldn’t have done it), the countless times you made Toni laugh when your paths crossed at her place of work. Will miss your hug and your “Merry Christmas Braczek”. We will reminisce and smile about your life. “Come every good fellow and join in the song, Viva la compagnie”! Love you, Gutz.
My condolences to the family. Eddy “Gutsy” played softball years ago. He was a character on and off the field. I am blessed to have known him.
I worked with Eddie for many years at Rolar. Many teaching moments i experienced working with him…one statement i wont forget…..”all you want to do is eat the teacher” .. He was a great man.
Ed was a giant among pesticide applicators. He was a really great guy and will be missed by all of those who worked with him. My condolences to all family and friends!
My sincere condolences to Gutsy’s family. Keep his memory alive in your hearts and the stories you tell. Gutsy loved to sing AND make everyone laugh. I remember many of the St. Hyacinth choir skits where he went off script and threw everyone into a laughing frenzy. He was also empathetic with a hug and a kiss if you were down. He will be missed.

Your father was my best friend, we were family, he was a part of my family and I was a part of his family. He was my Best Man and I was his. We bonded over our mutual love of all things baseball and manhattans! Our high light being attending the 1971 MLB All-Star Game at Tiger Stadium together! Hamtramck good times would start at Bill’s Bar and we would make our way up to Swingin City, making many stops along the way and sharing plenty of laughs. Your dad was one of a kind and he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. We have a lifetime of great memories of Eddie (Gutsy) and we will keep them close to our hearts. Simply said, our hearts are broken. Love you all.
Edie “Gutsy” and I played baseball for many years. He was a competitive player with a lot of heart. My life was enriched with him in it. Prayers to his family.
A fun classmate with the best smile and attitude. I’m glad I knew such a sweet person. It was always fun seeing him at our St. Florian class reunions in the past. A very special person had left us. Our memories of fun with him will be our to treasure.
