Virginia Lukasiak (age 92) neé Koremski
May 20, 2026

Virginia A. Lukasiak peacefully left this earth on May 20, 2026, to receive her eternal reward. At 92 years of age, Virginia lived a life rooted in faith, love, kindness, and devotion to others. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful laughter, her unwavering faith in God, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

During her many years on earth, Virginia dedicated over 20 years of service to People’s State Bank in Hamtramck, where she built lasting friendships and became a beloved presence in the community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, friendship, and strength that will continue to live on through all who knew her.

Virginia was truly a woman of many talents and many roles. From bookkeeper to saleswoman, and later becoming a banker in her middle years, she embraced every chapter of life with determination and grace. She was gifted in so many ways — singing, cooking, writing, and caring for others came naturally to her. She was an inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her faith in the Lord guided her daily life. One of the sayings she lived by was, “Just do your best and let God do the rest.” Those words reflected the strength, humility, and faith that defined her character.

Virginia was a devoted member of Transfiguration Church and the Queen of Apostles Seniors community. To those who loved her most, she was truly the one and only Wonder Woman — a title she earned through her resilience, compassion, and endless love for others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Father Anthony Koremski and Mother Anna (Guzek) Koremski; her devoted husband of 64 years, Walter Lukasiak; her cherished and only daughter, Sandra Lukasiak, who passed away at the young age of 26; and her sister, Sophie Murawski.

She leaves behind her loving son-in-law, Dan (Tammy) Pharis(children)Benjamin and Rachel, her daughter of the heart, Valentina Nechovski; Mary and Omar Mokrzan chosen family and honorary grandson; nephew Martin Koziel; great niece Sylvia Gleason and great nephew William Gleason and along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever blessed by her love and friendship.

Following services at Queen of Apostles, Virginia will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery beside her beloved husband Walter and daughter Sandra.

Though she has departed from this earthly life, Virginia’s spirit, faith, love, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her forever. For life has changed not ended.
