Patricia Skorupski (age 88), neé Kurkowski

Patricia Helen (Kurkowski) Skorupski, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 17, 1937, and raised in Hamtramck, Michigan, Patricia lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, and devotion to others. She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her husband, Joseph J. Skorupski, whom she had known since elementary school and with whom she had been together since the age of 13. Their lifelong bond was a testament to loyalty, companionship, and deep love. Patricia also devoted herself to caring for others through her work with the Archdiocese of Detroit at St. Florian, where she served as a cafeteria cook with warmth and generosity. After retiring, she also enjoyed working with her friend Leona Tocco and her family in her catering business. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Skorupski, and her cherished eldest son, Joseph Skorupski.

Patricia leaves behind her loving son, Christopher Skorupski; her daughter-in-law, Kara; and her grandson, Nathanael, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her close cousins, Victoria Hornik-Rosinski and Allen Rosinski, and their daughter, Mary, whom Patricia lovingly cared for in her younger years and embraced in her heart as a daughter. She was also a devoted and loving Godmother to Suzy Stefanka, the daughter of Sally and Smokey Stefanka, Patricia’s dearest friends, a role she held with great affection. Patricia will also be deeply missed by her extended family and friends, whose love and care meant so much to her throughout her life.

For the last nine years of her life, Patricia made her home with Chris and his family, where she was surrounded by love, comfort, and devoted care as she faced the challenges of dementia. Even in those difficult years, the strength of her family’s love remained constant. In earlier years, Patricia found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together and made a house feel like home. She loved spending time with family, playing bingo, crafting, and reading. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her caring heart, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will be cherished always by all who knew and loved her.
