Timothy Szczepkowski (age 67)

Timothy Szczepkowski, a man of creativity, tradition, and deep devotion, passed away on April 2, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on Valentine’s Day in 1959, Tim was a true son of Detroit, carrying the city’s vibrant spirit with him throughout his life before making his home in Shelby Township. Tim found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life. He was a master of his crafts, whether he was meticulously sewing or filling his home with the sounds of polka music. He was most at home in the kitchen, where he could cook with the best of them! Tim was known for his love of traditional Polish cuisine, especially his pierogi.
He is now reunited with the love of his life and partner, Shirley Szczepkowski, who preceded him in death in 2024. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Sigmunt and Veronica Szczepkowski, and his brother, David Szczepkowski.
Tim’s memory will be carried on by his surviving siblings: his brothers, Jim Szczepkowski and Sigmunt Szczepkowski Jr., and his sister, Pamela. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Lacey, who was his main source of comfort after losing Aunt Shirley. We know they are now Polka Dancing together again.
