Krystyna Wierzbicki (age 90)
April 19, 2026
Dear wife of the late Ignacy (1998) and loving mother of Regina, Wladyslawa (William) Klos, and Roman (Laurie). Krystyna (Warcholik) Wierzbicki is the proud grandmother of John Ignacious Wierzbicki, Kimberly (Ryan) Jackson, and Joshua Klos. She is predeceased by her parents: Wojciech and Apolonia (Miarecka) Warcholik, along with siblings: Wladyslaw, Maria, Jozefa, and Zofia. Krystyna is also survived by her family in Poland. Her sister-in-law Irena Warcholik, Monika and Andrzej Jajko and their daughters Joanna and Izabela. Wieslawa Piwowar and her daughters Aneta and Dominika, Janusz and Barbara Warcholik and their children Ewelina and Kamil, and Stanislaw and Danuta Warcholik and their son Alan.
90 years ago, Krystyna (Warcholik) entered the world in a small farming community in Poland. She grew up during a time when the world was being pulled apart with much uncertainty. She met and married Ignacy Wierzbicki and together took a huge gamble leaving their families and friends emigrating to Hamtramck, Michigan USA in the early 60’s.
They worked very hard to build a more opportunistic life for their three children, Regina, Wladyslawa and Roman who all succeeded in their chosen fields and provided solid foundations for their families and loving support for their parents. Ignacy peacefully exited the world in 1998 at 70 years and left a legacy for his children the results of hard work and perseverance demonstrating strong family commitment and overcoming incredible obstacles.
Krystyna continued working and supporting the family into the early 2000’s, retiring to spend her time enjoying her family and friends, nature (bird watching & befriending visiting squirrels) gardening and of course caring for her three grandchildren as they all reached adulthood and appreciated all her loving support and care.
The greatest gift both Krystyna and Ignacy gave the world was the belief in family first and undying support. Nothing flashy or fancy but absolutely essential for success and confidence. Together they emphasized faith as Catholics within the St Ladislaus and St Florian communities for which the children were all educated and continued a lifelong devotion to God and sacrifice for the greater good.
Two days after turning 90 years old this Polish farm girl, who traversed the globe, overcame economic challenges, worked very hard and raised her kids to work hard and care for each other left this world peacefully…mission accomplished.
In remembrance of Krystyna, the family requests you say a rosary or offer a mass in her name at a parish of your choice. Flowers are also welcome for those who wish to express their sympathy in that way.
