Thomas Russell (age 59)
June 10, 2025
Thom lost his battle with Cancer early in the morning of June 10, 2025 with his loving wife Karan by his side as she always was. Thom grew up in Hamtramck and was a graduate of Hamtramck High School. Thom was a code enforcement officer in Hamtramck and other cities. Thom was married to his wonderful wife Karan for 33 years. They have three beautiful children Brittany (Justin) Seamans, Megan, and Danielle and a grand daughter, Vivenne. Thomas is the son of Marilyn and the late Taylor and the brother of Sharon (Michael) Hebert. He is also survived by his nephew Matthew and other family and friends.
Thom embraced the values of a local club to go to when he became a member of the Hamtramck Moose Lodge #1670. His late in-laws Fran and Dave DeCarlo asked him to join and he soon became an officer on the board, Junior Governor, Governor, and Administrator. He really enjoyed the family values of the Moose and his girls grew up in the Hamtramck Lodge . Thom quickly became a resource for other lodges in the area and field supervisor for Moose International and was loved throughout the state of Michigan and among the entire Loyal Order of The Moose.
Private Services were held by the Family

This is very sad to hear , I’ve known Thom since our days at Dickinson grade school all the way through our graduation. Bless Thom and his family
I am so sorry, the laughter, fun and memories we have are priceless. He will be missed but never forgotten, his beautiful wife and children will carry on the humor and laughter Thom has always shared and cherished. I remember the way we became friends, I was getting out of school at Hamtramck High and he’d swing his green backpack and hit me with it laughing all the while and a life friendship began there.
Sleep well my friend!
