Richard “Rocky” Radtke (age 62)
November 7, 2023
Son of the late Maria and Bo. Brother and best friend of Mark (Jean) and uncle of Joshua. Rocky was a dear friend of many.
Rocky was the former owner of the Baker’s Streetcar Bar which was renowned for his Alley Cow Grill. He was also a paramedic and most recently worked for the City of Hamtramck. He had a love of entertaining and cooking and would watch cooking shows for new ideas . He also enjoyed singing a tune or three or four when drinks were rolling at the bar.
Rocky’s stature was big and you could hear his laugh from a mile away but his huge heart dwarfed his appearance and made you love him even more.
Rocky’s Christmas Party at Bakers always raised money and donations for the Michigan Anti Cruelty Society. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Rocky’s name to them at https://macsshelter.org/donate/

You were best man at our wedding,
Hoping you and Fred are having some good laughs together up there!
I will remember the good times and laughter we all shared.
To know Rocky was to love Rocky. A neighborhood kid “done good”. Rocky loved everyone and going to the Baker Street when he owned it was like going to the bar “Cheers”..everyone knew you – or would know you soon.
We had several bike ride outings from his bar with always well over 100 people and everyone just loved going there. Rocky knew how to make everyone feel welcomed.
Rocky will be missed – a force for good – true loss.
We will miss you sending my prayers to your family
I have many great memories of Rich, and he was such a kind and thoughtful person. Years ago he attended a basketball tournament in Indiana with my cousins and myself, and I remember how nice he was to everyone, and how he would light up a room with his laugh. Then, whenever I went to Baker’s with friends he was so friendly and kind.
