Genowefa Surchik (age 87)

It is with great sadness that the family of Genowefa Surchik announce her passing on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 87.

Born in Poland, in 1935, Genowefa, first handedly, witnessed the German and Soviet invasions of Poland, half of a century of communism, before departing Poland for the U.S.A., in 1989. She settled in Westland, Michigan and was joined, in 1996, by her daughters and their respective families. Genowefa spent the last years of her life living in Hamtramck, MI.

She especially enjoyed family gatherings and had a passion for gardening and flowers.

Genowefa will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Alicja and Renata; grandchildren: Marcin, Romuald, Monika, Anna, Joanna, Damian and Krystian; great-grandchildren: Maya, David, Lily, Gabriel, Lena and Amelia; sister Janina as well as numerous relatives and friends, both in the U.S.A. and Poland.
