Walter served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was part of the historic Bikini Atoll H-Bomb testing in the pacific. He was tasked with measuring the radiation levels on the island after the bombs were detonated on the island.
Walter was a member of PLAV Post #6 and the Transfiguration and Queen of Apostles Seniors. With a little thought and doing there was not a thing that he wasn’t able to fix. His famous saying was “I’ll put that on my to do list, but not right now.”

Dear Virginia; What an example of a life lived with JOY leading! No one can lay claim to having no problems, and certainly your life is one that had many hard things happen. Still you carried on, Wally carried on with grace, courage, hard work and a spirit that would not be broken. The Bible tells us that the mark of a Christian is the love and joy that is clearly on display in their life. I’m trying to picture the bliss that Wally now lives in. And you, Virgina, walked him steadily and gently there. Well done, dear friend. What an model you have set for those of us who are blessed to have seen it. XO. Grace Fenton
