Brian Vesnaugh (age 49)
January 14, 2022
On January 14, 2022, the Vesnaugh family lost a husband, father, son, brother, and nephew. Brian passed at the age of 49 in a tragic snowmobile accident. Brian loved spending time with his family especially with his wife and two sons. He was an avid Spartan football fan and loved being up north boating, skiing, or golfing at Duck Lake where he was a member. He loved cooking and grilling and was always the person to plan the party. He was a jack of all trades and became a tech genius which led him to his love of Amazon. He was a skilled woodworker and was proud of the Irish Pub he built for his dad. So many people gathered at “Ray’s Pub” to ring the shot bell, give a toast, and sing a song, a tradition we will carry on. He never hesitated to share his creative talent with everyone.
Brian went to De La Salle Collegiate, Michigan State University, The University of Detroit where he received his Nursing Degree, and received his Masters at Oakland University. Starting at De La Salle he gained friendships that lasted a lifetime as he would gain the brothers he never had. He was given the title of Mayor McCheese and later was called “Bear” while in nursing school. He was known for busting his brothers chops, enjoying a martini, or visiting a casino with them.
Brian was a Nurse Practitioner and was the COO of House call Services LLC where every patient he treated loved him as their own son. He would always bring many treasured gifts home that his patients made for him.
Brian was the loving husband of Christine (nee Bower) and the proud father of Jack and Sam. He was the son of Bernadette and the late Raymond. Brother of Lori (Jim) Bonnell and Julie (Joe) Gerard and brother-in-law of Laura (Brian) May. He was godfather to Paul Walny and RJ Bonnell and uncle of Lucas, RJ, Charlianne, and Madison. Godson of Pat Vesnaugh and the late Carol (Phil) Floyd and nephew of Patrick (Dierdre) Vesnaugh, Elaine Walny, Dr. Lawrence Walny, and the late Thomas (Teresa).

My heart is breaking for your beautiful family and the extended family you have grown over the years. I consider us apart of that. Brian you were an amazing person and took such great care with all of your patients. My mom I feel got so many more years with us because of your care and support to our family. My thoughts and prayers are with your family today and always. Heaven received an amazing angel.
So sorry to the Vesnaugh family on your lost
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Vesnaugh family. Brian was a great next door neighbor who was so friendly and always willing to help on the wood projects we each enjoyed working on. We will miss him.
I am so sorry for this tragedy. Since last week, he has been on my heart. Out of no where I started wondering how he was doing, why we hadn’t seen him around, and praying for your business. Yesterday, I almost called…. My dad shared this news. My heart is just broken for all of you! He was a great guy, and always talked about his awesome children and “best” wife when we worked together. If I can help in any way, please, contact.
I was lucky enough to work with Brian both in the emergency department at St John Hospital and again with his VNA services he set up. He continuously amazed me with his medical competency, but this was eclipsed by what a great person he was as a husband and father. I will forever miss him as a friend and someone who’s opinion I really valued.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Brian in home care for the past 8 years. He was a wonder practitioner, an advocate for his patients, for sure; they loved him and so did we. He will be missed. Prayers…
Brian was my dad’s savior, I have no doubt that the years I have with him now are due to Brian. I will truly miss him and our conversations, either about the kids, politics or what crazy new device we had to get! I will pray for his wife, sons and mother. My God give you strength
I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. The Vesnaugh and Bonnell families will be in my prayers. So much tragedy in the Vesnaugh family. My heart aches for you. I pray for peace upon each and every one of you.
So sorry for your loss and the entire family is in my thoughts & prayers. Brian was an awesome person and will be missed by all.
I knew him as “Vez”. He was introduced to me by my cousin Jerry Dickey. Many events Jerry put on Vez was there and I enjoyed our conversations, great smile. I saw him as a caring, funny and loving father/husband. I will miss him.
Rest In Peace, Vez
God must have beckoned for his angel. What feels like a loss on earth, was a reunion in heaven, yet connected eternally by invisible strings.
My prayers will continue you Brian and family!! May God bless and keep you for ever and ever.
