Joan Ann Barrios (age 82) neé Kessler

Loving mother of Michael (Crissy), Anita (Keith), and Maria (Jimmy) Studer.  Dear Grandmother of Angelo, Tyler, Louise, and Pinkney and great grandmother of Paisley.  Joan is also survived by her sister Geri Kessler.  Joan is proceeded in death by her siblings Barbara, Susan, and Larry.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Joan served in the United States Navy and was a bus driver and custodian for the Hamtramck Public School System.  She was a past Commander at PLAV Post #1 in Hamtramck.  Joan loved to travel and went to Maine, Alaska, and Italy.  She also loved dancing and loved Packi day and her annual Polka with Mayor Majewski.  She was involved in her civic duties and in her retirement fell in love with doing crosswords and would be seen at her table at Café 1923 working on her NY Times or Wall Street Journal crossword puzzles.  She will be missed by her family and friends around Hamtramck.
